Chandragiri is one of the highest points in Kathmandu valley and is connected with the historical unification of Nepal by King Prithvi Narayan Shah in the 18th Century. Since it is one of the four passes of the valley, trade businessmen used to pass through here. They use to take a rest here and see the beautiful valley. King Prithvi Narayan Shah used to worship the god Bhaleswor before he attacked the kingdoms. So, it was a very important temple for him.
Thousands of people visit this place at present after the establishment of the cable car. The view from the top is amazing. The Himalayan ranges like Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang and Gaurishankar as well and Mahalangur can be seen from here. It is also getting a popular place to see the Mt.
